How to calculate Load Factor ?

Load Factor is the ratio of Actual Effort to the Total Effort available to the project in terms of number of resources allocated to the project for any given period. It is measured at overall project level. It helps to utilize the resources optimally.

How to calculate Load Factor:

Load Factor = Actual Effort / Total Effort

Actual Effort in PD’s	Allocated Effort in PD’s	Load Factor
120	150	0.8

  Load Factor= 120 / 150

                      =0.8

Allocated Efforts calculated by resource count and time allocated for project.

How to calculate Allocated Efforts:

No. of Resources allocated	No. of Days allocated	Allocated Effort
10	15	150

 

Allocated Effort= No. of Resources allocated * No. of Days allocated

                                =10*15

                                =150
